The 1870’s, two-story wood farmhouse at Lone Oak Farm is one of the oldest structures in Alameda County. The property is now owned by the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, who asked us to investigate structural stability, develop cost estimates and make recommendations for the rehabilitation of the historic house and out-buildings and then, following that, to complete the restoration of the house exterior and rehabilitation of its interior. We also designed a new barn, compatible with the historic context, which utilizes materials salvaged from other structures on the Farm.
